4 Simple Ways to Celebrate Trinity Sunday
On the Sunday after Pentecost, we celebrate Trinity Sunday. On this day, we honor God three in one: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It's the perfect time to reflect on our own journey with God - pausing to appreciate all He does for us and how special it is to be part of His family. If you're looking for creative ways to celebrate with your loved ones, we are sharing four simple, yet fun ideas!
Plant Some Pansies
One of our favorite ways to celebrate is outside in the garden. Grab your gardening tools and water can, pick up some pansies from your local store and get ready to spend the afternoon planting flowers. Pansies are sometimes called the “Trinity Flower” because of their three colorful petals. Plant these flowers to recall the love and unity of the Holy Trinity and watch them blossom and grow!
Eat Pretzels
Make snack time extra special by enjoying on some pretzels and chatting about the Trinity! Pretzels originated in a monastery in France or Italy when the leftover bread dough was twisted into the shape of crossed arms in prayer. The three holes recall the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. If you want to try making soft pretzels here is a recipe!
Play an Instrument
Music is a beautiful way to worship and honor the Trinity! Dust off the piano or break out the trumpet from the closet and get ready to make some music. St. Ignatius of Loyola said the Trinity was like a harmonic chord.
“Each key having its own individual sound, but when played together, each key, without losing any of its own distinctiveness, contributes itself and together they form a unified harmonic chord.” - Saint Ignatius of Loyola

Invite Friends Over
Quality time with loved ones makes for a beautiful way to celebrate. We learn in the Trinity that God is not alone and is brought to fullness in communion with others. We, too, need community. Invite friends over for dinner, a game night, or maybe even to make pretzels. Enjoy your time together!
