Mary’s Way of Advent: Prayers & Practices to Slow Down & Seek God

A Catholic Advent devotional that walks with Mary through the season, with weekly reflections and simple prayer practices.

In the rush of the season, Advent can pass us by before we’ve had a chance to breathe. Mary’s Way of Advent: Prayers & Practices to Slow Down & Seek God invites us to pause, pray, and prepare with Mary as our guide.

Through Scripture, reflection, and simple practices, this devotional follows Mary through the Gospel of Luke — from her “yes” at the Annunciation to the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem. Each week focuses on one of Advent’s timeless themes — hope, peace, joy, and love — while also acknowledging the struggles that shadow them: worry, uncertainty, fear, and fatigue.

Inside you’ll find:

• Weekly reflections on Mary’s prayers and actions as a path to Christ
• Quick meditations on Advent’s central themes
• Simple prayer practices — breath prayers, body prayers, journaling,  and conversation starters
• Practical ways to slow down and seek God, no matter how busy life feels

Whether you have one minute or ten, this devotional offers space to quiet your heart and return to what matters most: welcoming Christ with Mary, treasuring his coming, and pondering his love in your heart.
