DIGDEEP Navajo Water Project.

I love cacti. I think it’s from growing up in the Southwest and then living elsewhere for so long. I realized that cacti were actually special. Now that I’m back in the west, I take note of almost every cactus that I see. I love that they are there, year round, solid, intricate things.

My dear friend George came to me a few weeks ago to ask if I would send him some cacti watercolor images for their new website launch for DIGDEEP’s Navajo Water Project. Of course, I said, anything to help.

Navajo are 67 times more likely than other Americans to live without running water or a toilet. That’s an injustice.

Many Natives can’t get enough clean water, creating a cycle of poverty that limits health, happiness, educational opportunity, and economic security.

We can fix that.

I had this cacti print that I had made a few months ago sitting on my desk. I loved it and was waiting to release it until I had more products available. I looked at it again and said, oh yes, it could help raise money for the project.

I am so thrilled with the result–it is a gold leaf pressed print of cacti in pots. Proceeds go to fund the project, which brings clean water to the Navajo people in New Mexico.

You can get yours here!
