Saint Teresa of Calcutta
Feast Day: September 5
Patron Saint of: World Youth Day, Missionaries of Charity, Archdiocese of Calcutta
Fondly known as Mother Teresa, she is globally recognized for her work among the poorest of the poor in India. Born to Albanian parents and originally named Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, this soon-to-be saint felt a strong call to serve as a missionary in India. She founded the order called Missionaries of Charity, which continues to be a thriving community worldwide. Her love for the poor and marginalized is an inspiration to serve and find Christ even in those considered unlovable.
