The Saint Andrew's Christmas Novena

Yesterday began the Saint Andrew's Christmas Novena! You pray it 15 times per day until Christmas with a special (or multiple special) intentions.

My great grandmother had this written on a little card that I still have and cherish. In 2013, I was so lost on what do with my life. I was unhappy at my job and had zero direction. I remember in the middle of the 25 days, I had this thought “I’ll be a calligrapher!” I didn’t even know how to hold a calligraphy pen properly nor really what a calligrapher did for money. But there it was planted in my heart. I told a guy I was seeing and he LAUGHED. Asked if I’d ride my bike around with a sign on the back that said “calligrapher.” But Mary knew how it would all unfold. I didn’t think about it again until the day it dawned on me that I was making a living as a calligrapher. All this to say, it’s a powerful novena!

Hail, and blessed be the hour and moment at which the Son of God was born of a most pure Virgin in a stable at midnight in Bethlehem in the piercing cold. At that hour vouchsafe, I beseech Thee, to hear my prayers and grant my desires.

- Intentions -

Through Jesus Christ and His most Blessed Mother. Amen.
