4 Simple ways to celebrate All Saints' Day

All Saints' Day, celebrated on November 1st, is a special occasion that honors the saints, both known and unknown, who have left a remarkable imprint on the world through their exemplary lives and unwavering faith. Reading the stories of the saints and praying to them reminds us that there are many paths to sainthood, and we are all capable and called to holiness just like they were. In this blog, we're sharing simple yet meaningful ways to celebrate All Saints' Day at home or in the classroom.

4 Simple ways to celebrate

Punch Needle Saints

Create cute punch needles of your favorite Saints! For this project you will need the following supplies:

  1. Print out a saint onto iron on paper.
  2. Cut it out and iron it onto either the monk’s cloth or throw pillow.
  3. Use the embroidery hoop to create the halo of the saint. The back side of the embroidery hoop ends up being the finished side so you have to follow the outline of the saint’s face from the back as you punch. You can draw the outline with a pencil if you need some guidance.

Make Big Saint Faces

This is a fun project for the whole family! Get your polaroid camera ready to snap some photos using the faces.

Supplies needed:

  1. Paint the face of the saint
  2. Cut out poster board and cardstock to make their facial features
  3. Glue them onto the cardboard
  4. Snap photos and have fun!

Create a shrine niche photo booth

Make a Shrine Niche Photo Booth, using the following supplies:

  1. Set up a large box (big enough to sit in).
  2. Piece together other cardboard to make the border of the shrine. Tape it all together.
  3. Spray paint the structure and paint some designs with other colors. Use gold card stock or glitter.
  4. Hang a curtain in the back of the box.
  5. Set it up for your party guests to take pictures dressed in their saint costumes or set up large saint faces for people to use.
