I want so badly to love this because clearly there’s a lot of thought and care put into it—the feast days, the O Antiphons, etc. However, the sticker aspect made it seem like this was appropriate for young children, and my 4 year old loved it but struggled with some of the (very very) tiny stickers. There’s plenty of room on each sheet to make the stickers slightly larger. Even I struggled with the candle flames. The most troubling part for me though was the Christmas Day reflection which claimed Jesus was born in a manger “because Mary and Joseph were not married and their family rejected them.” I’m no theologian, but from a Catholic perspective, that statement seems to be both biblically and theologically problematic.
I really love this sticker book. I’m definitely buying more for next year. I think I look forward to it more than my kids. I love that each day it has Fun facts about a saint of the day or the significance of the sticker. My kids look forward to Doing it each day and so do I.
We are enjoying this advent calendar. My 6-year-old loves putting on the stickers. We're not Catholic, so it has been interesting to learn about the different saints remembered this time of year.
Cute, not worth $12. Worth couple dollars. Not much to it.
This is the second year I have purchased. I love the artwork, and the different room for this year's Advent Calendar. It is a wonderful idea, and keeps my granddaughter rooted in her Catholic faith development. It is easy to understand for her to read and do the calendar.
